Baseball Wins Game 2. Texas Tech wins game 2 fairly easily, beating Kansas State, 7-1. I’ve updated the weekend thread with a recap and a box score. The short version is that Cameron Smith pitched a gem of a game, allowing only 4 hits the entire game and Corey Raley and Tyler Floyd each homered, leading the offense.

Women’s Tennis Upset by TCU. It wasn’t pretty as Texas Tech had a chance at the Big 12 championship, but ended up losing to TCU, 4-0 on Saturday. Todd Petty and his team finish 17-5 overall and are tied for 2nd with TCU for second place. The Big 12 Championship Tournament starts Thursday in Waco.

Men’s Tennis Loses to #1 Baylor. The men’s team couldn’t make it two weekends in a row to upset a top team as they lost to the #1 Baylor, 4-1. Texas Tech is 18-7 overall and 2-3 in the Big 12, and like the ladies, will play in the Big 12 Championship Tournament in Waco starting on Friday, facing the Longhorns.

Softball Cruises. The softball team got out to an early lead, 4-0 in the first inning, and never looked back as they beat Oklahoma State 5-2. Chandler Moore pitched a complete game, the secodn of her career and Brittany Warnecke drove in two runs.

Men’s Golf Dominates Inaugural JP Energy Red Raider Shootout. The men’s golf team won twice on Saturday, beating TCU, but also upsetting #2 Texas in the inaugural JP Energy Rd Raider Shootout. This is the last match before the Big 12 Championship, which is set for the end of the month at Southern Hills in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
