Track & Field

All Academic. Congrats to the 28 student-athletes who were named on the Academic All-Big 12 team. That’s a big list. Congrats to all!

Basketball

Written Off . . . Again. College Basketball Talk looks at the Big 12 and there’s really nothing to write about here other than the comment regarding Texas Tech is as follows:

10. Texas Tech: There’s not much to get excited about on the Red Raider roster.

Adams Joins Chris Beards’ Staff. Congrats to Mark Adams, who was the director of operations for Texas Tech as he’ll join Chris Beard as an assistant coach at Arkansas-Little Rock. Good for Mark for getting that coveted assistant coaching spot.

Sorrells to Walk-On. Via Wreck’Em 24/7’s Daniel Paulling, the grandson of Kent Hance, Andrew Sorrells will walk-on at Texas Tech.

Foster to Bradley. Former Texas Tech basketballer Alex Foster has decided that he will transfer to Bradley. Good luck to Alex!

Football

Ranking the Running Backs. The ESPN Big 12 Blog Bros rank the Big 12 running backs and Texas Tech sits at #4:

4. Texas Tech (5): Running back is by far Tech’s biggest strength exiting spring. De’Andre Washington is one of the conference’s best and most prolific all-purpose backs, but it’s the growth of his three young backups that makes this group look great. Justin Stockton was dominant at times this spring, and Quinton White and Demarcus Felton will make plays. ESPN 300 signee Corey Dauphine is coming soon too.

Cox-Wesley Commits. Last night, Texas Tech received their 6th commitment from WR Antoine Cox-Wesley from Cibolo Steele. We’ll have a profile of him later this morning.
