Texas Tech Running Back Coach Jabbar Juluke Leaving for LSU

LSU has hired away one of Texas Tech’s newest assistant coaches.

Well, that was a quick stay. Texas Tech hired former Louisiana Tech running back coach Jabbar Juluke after Mike Jinks left for the head coaching position at Bowling Green, but Texas Tech announced that Juluke is leaving for LSU. Here’s both Kingsbury and Juluke:

“I’m sorry to see Coach Juluke go but this is a lifelong dream of his,” Kingsbury said. “He’s a Louisiana guy and this is an opportunity for him to go home. I know he will be an incredible asset for Coach Miles and their program.”

“I want to thank Coach Kingsbury and his staff for the opportunity they gave me at Texas Tech,” Juluke said. “This is an exciting time in Lubbock, Texas and I foresee great things for the Red Raiders.”

Welp, I can’t blame Juluke and I would guess that Kingsbury knew that if LSU offered, that it would be tough to keep Juluke at Texas Tech. The story notes that Kingsbury would like to hire a running backs coach before spring practices begin, on March 5th.
