Texas Tech Women’s Rodeo Team to National Finals. Via the LAJ’s Brett Hoffman the women’s rodeo team will advanced to the College National Finals Rodeo after advancing in their region:

Throughout the year, Texas Tech thrived on stellar performances from Kellie Collier who won the region’s women’s all-around title after earning 1,200 points in multiple events. Collier also snared the regional barrel racing title and finished fifth in the break-away roping race.

The team also benefitted from Kynzie Rae McNeil who finished second in the regional women’s all-around race with 762.5 points.

Other competitors who will represent Texas Tech at the Casper championships are Jessica Dunbar and Tamara Tunink. Last year, Tunink won the NIRA break-away title at the College National Finals when she competed for Western Texas.

Also mentioned in that article is a mention of Stetson Vest, brother to Sawyer Vest and both Texas Tech grads.
