Scouting Report: Davis completes the five-man defensive back group that Texas Tech has, or at least, I think this completes the group. Davis was essentially down to Texas Tech and Kansas State as far as school choices are concerned and chose the Red Raiders. Davis fits the mold of what Gibbs wants as a cornerback: long, rangy, and athletic. These are the exact sort of guys that Gibbs and Spavital (who I think is essentially an assistant to Gibbs as far as recruiting). Davis plays well in space and does a pretty good job of reading the quarterback’s eyes. He has a knack of interfering with the pass just enough, but he does need to work on technique and I think he can do a better job of wrapping up in space though.

Make sure and check out Staking The Plains’ Recruiting Table for a map of where all the commits are located and links on every commit.

John, welcome to Texas Tech and Git Your Guns Up!
