Brian: So I may have whiffed on the Kansas-Baylor prediction. Ryan Willis definitely doesn’t seem to be the answer at QB for the Jayhawks at the moment, and until they get an offense figured out they’ll at least always have the memories of rushing the field for their only win this season. Meanwhile, a bye-week for the Pokes means we’re treated to Mike Gundy having weird takes on things. This comes after he made the comment in the offseason about how players are better than they ever were when he played because they don’t party and chase girls all summer like they did back in the day. Anyway, about the early game in Lawrence. OSU is giving 28 to a team that can’t really score but can slow down your offense (sometimes). Oklahoma State is an incredibly talented team with a Jekyll/Hyde complex, and it’s anybody’s guess as to which team will show up on Saturday. However, if Willis gets the nod for Kansas, believe that Poke S Jordan Sterns and the rest of the defense will feast on turnovers, which could put the Jayhawks in the coffin early. Some 11 AM trap game weirdness would be great, but it looks like we’ll have to get our fix elsewhere this week.

Texas Longhorns (3-3, 1-2) vs. Kansas State Wildcats (3-3, 1-2)

What Happened Last Week for Kansas State: Oklahoma 38, Kansas State 17

Brian: I asked Seth if I could do the write-up for this one solely because I wanted to point out this tweet. Beautiful.  I think this game could either be really good or absolutely terrible, and it all focuses around what Texas does on offense.  Last week against ISU, Texas QB Shane Buechele turned in what may have been his best game as a Longhorn, setting a career best mark for passing yardage on the way. He’s started to come in to his own in throwing everything from shorter routes to bombs, with emerging freshman deep threat Devin Duvernay finding himself often on the receiving end. Coupled with D’Onta Foreman on the ground, the Texas offense is formidable on its own and should cause some problems for the Wildcat defense. On the other side of the ball, the Texas defense had quite a turnaround last Saturday, holding a potentially potent Cyclone offense to only 6 points and a second half shutout. With a potentially hobbled Ertz playing quarterback for the Cats, the Horns are in a good position to force KSU to be completely one-dimensional.

TCU Horned Frogs (4-2, 2-1) vs. West Virginia Mountaineers (5-0, 2-0)
What Happened Last Week for TCU: BYE
What Happened Last Week for West Virginia: West Virginia 48, Texas Tech 17
Location: Milan Puskar Stadium | Morgantown, West Virginia
Date and Time: Saturday, October 22nd at 2:30 pm
Television: ABC
Line: West Virginia -5

Seth:  Well, this should be a good game.  In Morgantown on what is hopefully a crisp fall afternoon sounds terrific and I’m probably way too jaded to think of any scenario where West Virginia doesn’t win on Saturday.  TCU hasn’t been as good defensively or offensively and after what West Virginia did to Texas Tech last week, I’m thinking the Mountaineers roll in this one.  The only thing I’d caution here is that WVU hasn’t really rolled against any other opponent other than Texas Tech and they’ve generally played pretty tight games. TCU isn’t a terrible team, just not as consistent as they have been in the past, either offensively or defensively.  And the line has climbed to 6 to 6.5 with some books. I’ll take those 6.5 points and TCU on this one.
