original-double-t LAJ’s Krista Pirtle writes about the improved play of Dede Westbrook, who is on a tear coming into this game.

He also added three touchdowns — from 71, 42 and 47 yards out — en route to his first Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honor.

“Dede’s a very, very explosive player,” sophomore receiver Mark Andrews said. “He’s very fast. It doesn’t always look like he’s going full speed, but when he turns it on, it’s pretty impressive how fast he can get going. He’s a great route runner.”

original-double-t Tulsa World’s Eric Bailey writes about the Oklahoma secondary and playing this Texas Tech offense:

And then there is defensive coordinator Mike Stoops.

“These offenses are all scary. They can hurt you in a lot of different ways,” he said. “We know what Tech is. We’ve played them every year. We understand their approach. I think it keeps our players on their toes because they know how explosive this group can be.

“It’s a different week, schematically. This is a dynamic offense.”
