Soccer

Technically not Texas Tech soccer, but cute and fun work from Janine Beckie. Also, if you don’t follow Logan Hawk on Tiwtter, you should.

Because you could miss things like this.

Motivated for 2017. Looking forward to it😀

Lady Raider Basketball

LAJ’s Krista Pirtle has an extensive look around the Big 12 and Texas Tech takes on Texas today at 7:00 pm (game will be televised on the LHN) and Candi Whitaker talks about playing in the Big 12:

The Lady Raiders game against Texas begins its Big 12 slate that will see them face six teams that are ranked or receiving votes in the AP top 25 poll and five team ranked in the top 35 in RPI.

β€œI think it is tougher because your bottom teams have gotten so much better,” Whitaker said. β€œI think the talent is better from top to bottom. In the past the bottom three were not as competitive talent-wise, in athleticism or in size. I think because of that it it stronger and it is exciting.”

As an aside, Whitaker said that Arella Guirantes and her ankle should be a full-go for today’s game.

Red Raider Basketball

NBC Sports’ Travis Hines resets the Big 12 and like a lot of college basketball experts, they like Texas Tech’s 11-1 start, but simply haven’t played anyone just yet (which is true) so the Big 12 should be a huge proving ground:

6. Texas Tech: It’s been a Charmin-soft schedule for the Red Raiders, but their offense – especially their offensive rebounding – will probably translate enough to the Big 12 to put them in a position to hear their name called for a second-consecutive Selection Sunday.

Β  It would be fitting that this would happen.
