New Offer. Lubbock Cooper safety and outside linebacker Jake Kirkpatrick was offered last night. A Don Williams noted, Kirkpatrick is a legacy, his grandfather was Jack Kirkpatrick playing in 1953 and his father, Ben Kirkpatrick played likebacker for Spike Dykes.

Officially Hired. Texas Tech made it official yesterday in hiring Brett Dewhurst as the new safeties coach and Clay Jennings as the new defensive backs coach. This means that Texas Tech will hire a separate special teams coach and Dewhurst won’t try to fill that role and do something else.
