Baseball

Do you like scoring 20 runs? Do you like scoring 20 runs very much? Well, you’re in luck. Texas Tech (30-8) defeated New Mexico (12-22-1) by a score of 20-9 and largely on the bat of Josh Jung who hit for the cycle, going 5-5 with 8 RBI, 2 home runs and add in a walk to go along with it (via official site). Grant Little (2-5 with 4 RBI and Michael Davis (2-4, 2 RBI) both homered as well, which gave the team 4 for the day Ryan Sublette got the start, but he only lasted an inning and maybe a batter in the 2nd inning that he walked. This was a bullpen win and Jose Quezada went 2 innings without allowing a run, but Caleb Freeman, Ryan Shetter and Kurt Wilson each allowed 2 runs. The Sooners are up next this weekend.

Texas Tech Basketball

Last night, Zhaire Smith decided to sign with an NBA agent and remain in the 2018 NBA Draft. Zhaire made it official on Twitter:

After careful consideration I’ve decided to forgo my collegiate career and sign with Roc Nation.

Again I want to thank my family, friends, coaches, teammates, and TT fans. Your support has been great. I know this is the best decision for me and I hope to make y’all proud!

This is great news for the young man and I don’t know if I get too much into whether or not it will work out for Zhaire, I’ll just be supportive of the young man and hope that he suceeds and accomplishes all of his goals. Go Wreck’Em!

Texas Tech Football

I mentioned during my post-spring-game write-up that there were some Special Olympic participants and the official site released a video of these folks having hte time of their lives.
