Briefly

The women’s golf team is sitting at 12 over par and 14th place in the regional with needing to finish in the top six in order to advance (official site). The ladies would need to gain 9 shots in order to get to that 6th place as that’s currently 3 over par.

Congrats to Jessica Hartwell for being named the Big 12 Co-Player of the Week after a fantastic week for the softball team (official site):

Hartwell led the conference with three home runs, eight RBI and seven runs scored while hitting 6-of-9 at the plate with a double, two walks and two stolen bases. The Galt, Calif., native hit home runs 17, 18 and 19 in a doubleheader sweep at UTEP to break the school’s home run record and now stands in a tie for fifth nationally in home runs this season.

Texas Tech Baseball

Texas Tech will host Dallas Baptist for the final home game of the regular season, first pitch is at 6:30 (official site).

Texas Tech Basketball

ESPN’s Marc Spears released the 2018 NBA Combine invite list and your high-flying freshman Zhaire Smith made the list of 69 players (Twitter).

Texas Tech Football

Demarcus Felton announced on Twitter that he would be transferring as a graduate transfer from Texas Tech (Twitter). I wish Felton nothing but the best and hope he finds a place that will let him run the heck out of the ball.

Nice game of dodgeball before finals!

This is another Twitter tweet that post (the last one), but I thought this was neat. That’s defensive back Thomas Leggett who was pegged by Rusty Whitt as being the strongest player on the football team, pound-for-pound.

I’ve honestly been waiting for this. Kliff Kingsbury and the offensive staff officially offered San Angelo quarterback Maverick McIvor (6-3/195) (Twitter). Personally, I think and have thought that McIvor would be “the guy” for the quarterback position and that was maybe before Jacob Zeno seemed to cool on Texas Tech a bit. You can check out McIvor’s junior highlights right here). I think it has been STP member goldeneye who has touted McIvor’s skills from last year and I believe. Go get this guy.

I don’t know how this is possible, but Eli Howard had graduated from Texas Tech with the highest GPA on the team AND he’s still got three years of eligibility (Twitter). Congrats on an amazing accomplishment.
