Leading Off

Good luck to Gabriela Talaba, Felicity Maltby and doubles pair Sbrina Federici and Sarah Dvorak will participate in the Division I Singles and Doubles Championships at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex starting today (Texas Tech).

Texas Tech Basketball

Keonte Kennedy, the shooting guard down Austin-way has his final three schools, Xavier, Texas Tech and SMU (Twitter). Additionally, Both Bach is also down to his final three, Utah, San Diego State and Texas Tech (Rivals). I have no idea what will happen with either of these players, I don’t ever really get into figuring out where a player will go, but lets’ hope they choose the good guys.

In other recruiting news, Chris Beard is traveling a bit to go see his signees.

Texas Tech Football

Well, this is new. Texas Tech had eight players named to Athlon’s All-Big 12 Teams: LB Dakota Allen (first team); S Jah’Shawn Johnson (first team); OG Jack Anderson (second team); DE Eli Howard (second team); S Justus Parker (second team); WR T.J. Vasher (third team); LB Jordyn Brooks (fourth team); CB Damarcus Fields (fourth team). That’s a pretty impressive haul, especially for the defense with six players on that side of the ball and only two on offense.

The best redemption story in college football continues as Dakota Allen threw out the first pitch for the Texas Ranger game last night, accompanied with special teams coach Adam Scheier (who you really should follow on Twitter, he took a picture with Aaron Judge giving his guns up).
