Possible Red Raiders: A Weekly Recruiting Update – 9/10/2018

Some big basketball targets take a visit, a Tech football commit gets injured, plus more

Here are your recruiting updates from the past week:

Football 2019:

  • King Doerue, 87 rated RB, was watched by Kliff Kingsbury on Friday. Doerue is from Amarillo Tascosa, which is just a couple hours outside of Lubbock.
  • Maverick McIvor, 84 rated DT-QB, was injured and ruled out for the season on Friday. McIvor is committed to Texas Tech and has double digit offers.

Football 2020+:

  • Jaxon Smith-Njigba, 4-star 2020 WR, received an offer from the Red Raiders last week. Smith-Njigba already has double digit offers thus far.

Basketball 2019:

  • Jahmius Ramsey, 98 rated SF, visited Texas Tech this past weekend. Ramsey also has visits to Louisville, Indiana and Miami coming up.
  • PJ Fuller, 97 rated SF, committed to TCU last weekend. Fuller named the Red Raiders in his top group and went to the same school as current player Kyler Edwards.
  • Marcus Watson, 96 rated SG, visited Lubbock this past weekend. Watson has visited Boston College, and also has visits to Oklahoma State and Georgia Tech set up.
  • Emmanuel Taban, 92 rated SF, added Texas Tech to his top group along with Nevada and Wyoming according to Eric Bossi of Rivals. Taban first official visit is to Wyoming.
  • Kevin McCullar, 91 rated SF, visited Texas Tech this past weekend. McCullar committed to the Red Raiders over the summer.
  • Victor Iwuakor, 90 rated C, visited the Red Raiders this past weekend. Iwuakor also has visited Oklahoma.

Basketball 2020+:

  • Adam Miller, 97 rated 2020 PG, received an offer from Texas Tech last week. Miller has nine offers so far according to 247sports.
