Alan Bowman Released From Hospital

Good news as freshman quarterback Alan Bowman was released from Covenant Medical Center yesterday afternoon. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury and Bowman each released a statement yesterday, here’s Kingsbury’s:

Alan Bowman was released from Covenant Medical Center earlier this afternoon and will rejoin our team activities tomorrow. We are thankful for the quality of medical care he was provided by our team doctors as well as Grant Stovall, Drew Krueger and the staff at Covenant. We expect Alan to rejoin us on the field soon.

And from Bowman:

I’m thankful for the outpouring of support my family and I have received the past few days. I can’t thank my teammates and our coaching staff enough for their encouragement, and I look forward to rejoining them tomorrow as we continue to pursue our goals for this season. I’d also like to thank our fans, and I can’t wait to see a great crowd of Red Raiders next week in Fort Worth.

I’m not sure as to the timeline on this and my expectation is that Bowman doesn’t play against TCU and would expect that Jett Duffey is essentially getting ready to be the guy for the time being. At some point, McLane Carter should get healthy and getting some snaps and I’d guess that he’s getting close to that time. And if not Carter, then walk-on Colt Garrett is probably next in line and I’d probably guess that he’s getting snaps just in case. With Duffey being a mobile quarterback, the odds that he gets hit are probably a bit more than someone like Bowman so I’m guessing that after going through your first two quarterbacks, Kingsbury is planning for the absolute worst.
