Leading Off

I am running behind this morning. This is not a surprise late in the year so bear with me if things are not up to par or a bit late. I’m trying. As you know, I’m headed to Lubbock for the weekend for the game and bringing Fits and Yo so it should be a great time. And I have everything scheduled and I may (or may not) post a Morning Stake in the morning, it depends on internet availability and I really want to run in the morning (I’m supposed to run 11 miles, so we’ll see if that happens). I’ll be on the road during the day today and wish you all a terrific day and a great weekend.

You won’t find a better recap that Michael LaBarre’s recap from last night on Texas Tech’s 85-61 win over UTEP in the scrimmage last night. You can find the official site recap, which does have some of the quotes from the press conference embeded below, but no highlights.

Miscellaneous . . . The Ringer’s Robert Mays writes about how Patrick Mahomes and Baker Mayfield are the future of the NFL (Mays is a talented writer and if you like to read good things, this is one of them) . . . ESPN’s Jake Trotter writes about that epic game in Lubbock two years ago between Mahomes and Mayfield . . . Athlon’s Allen Kenney previews and predicts Oklahoma vs. Texas Tech . . . Texas Tech received a commitment from a 2020 quarterback, Wilson Long. I’m working on a profile and hope to have it posted ASAP . . .
