Leading Off

Spent too much time researching and writing one thing, plus watching way too much Utah State football, but LaBarre will have your recruiting update today at 10 and I’ve got a deeper look into defensive coordinator Keith Patterson at noon.

Texas Tech Soccer

The soccer team held their team awards last night, so you can click on to see who won the awards.

The blood red eyes tho . . .

Texas Tech Basketball

Texas Tech Football

These first and second team AP All-Big 12 players were announced on Friday. Congrats to Dakota Allen, Antoine Wesley, and Adrian Frye for the first team selection and Jack Anderson and Clayton Hatfield for the second team selections.

“Wreck Em” appears to be a staff thign to indicate something on the recruting trail.

We’re all Chiefs fans (I mean, you may not be, but Patrick Mahomes is fun as hell).

Miscellaneous . . . these next few links are via College Football Talk . . . TCU quarterback Shawn Robinson will transfer, which is a bit of a surprise and you wonder if he’s being told that he needs to transfer as they had a hotshot freshman that they redshirted last year . . . the curse continues as Iowa State has signed head coach Matt Campbell to a new 6-year extension . . . Utah State has hired Gary Andersen to replace Matt Wells, when this news broke, I was checking out the replies from tweet from Pete Thamel and the Oregon State fans are salty about him leaving Oregon State, saying why he would leave a program without getting paid, twice (Wisconsin and Oregon State) and then there was this mention about Andersen maybe taking part of the drinky-drinky (and other things). Your man DanSwany found this thread from an Oregon State message board and the whoo-boy the conspiracy theories from that message board are all sorts of interesting, from drinking on the job to messing around with a cheerleader and you wonder if some of that is true and you also wonder if it was Wells who was the OC and (and whoever was the defensive coordinator, I think Dave Aranda was the DC in 2012, but not sure who it was in 2011) who were driving the program, not Andersen . . .
