Texas Tech received their second commit of the 2020 class in Lake Ridge offensive lineman Caleb Rogers, joining quarterback Donovan Smith.

Just scrolling through Rogers’ Twitter profile, his high school team, Lake Ridge, tweeted that his Mom is a Texas Tech alum, “Mom is his hero. Caleb commits on Mother’s Day. Beautifully fitting timing. Congrats @calebrogers72 on your commitment to be a Red Raider.” So for all of you asking why Texas Tech doesn’t get children of alum to commit, well, here you go.

I think Rogers has a pretty nice frame, good size, really pretty athletic given his size and I think he’s got nice speed. Rogers is not an overly physical lineman, just doesn’t play that way. He doesn’t use his arms all that much, to stonewall defenders, he really allows them into his body and at this point, he’s using his size and quickness to stay in front of opponents rather than simply over-powering them. I thought that Rogers’ best plays were the two at the end, Rogers pulls on both plays and you see how he’s light on his feet and moves really well. I think if he can keep that sort of athletic ability, he’ll be really good. Some guys are finished products and I don’t think that is Rogers. But Rogers is pretty athletic and given his size, I think that’s a pretty good combination.

Caleb, welcome to Texas Tech and Git your Guns Up!
