Happy New Year! I hope you all have a safe and happy new year. Thank you all for your continued support through the year and let’s look forward to 2020.

NASA’s Artemis Project. Do you like space? NASA’s Artemis project is NASA working towards returning to the Moon and eventually Mars:

While Mars remains our horizon goal, we have set our sights first on exploring the entire surface of the Moon with human and robotic explorers. We will send astronauts to new locations, starting with the lunar South Pole. At the Moon, we will:

* Find and use water and other critical resources needed for long-term exploration
* Investigate the Moon’s mysteries and learn more about our home planet and the universe
* Learn how to live and operate on the surface of another celestial body where astronauts are just three days from home
* Prove the technologies we need before sending astronauts on missions to Mars, which can take up to three years roundtrip

The first projected launch date for Artemis 1 is November of 2020, so that’s something to look forward to for the new year. As an aside, Artemis is the ancient Greek goddess of the hunt, the wilderness, wild animals, the Moon and chastity, is the daughter of Zeus and Leto and twin sister of Apollo. Her temple at Ephesus was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
