Davide Moretti Signs With Agent; Will Not Return to Texas Tech

Thank you Davide!

As reported by Sportando, Texas Tech guard Davide Moretti will forgo his final year of eligibility and sign with Italian club Olimpia Milano.

Moretti averaged 13.0 points a game, 1.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.2 steals this past year while shooting 41.9% from the floor and 38% from the three-point line.

Moretti was a key cog the past three years, and was a huge part of Texas Tech’s run to the National Championship, yet falling short. That year Moretti had averaged 11.5 points a game, while shooting 49.8% from the floor and 45.9% from the three-point line. Moretti was asked to do a bit more this year, and be a traditional point guard rather than asking him to mainly be a shooter in the 2018-19 year.

I will not attempt something in Italian wishing Moretti well and thanking him for his time at Texas Tech, but Moretti has always been absolute class, was always there to answer to the media’s ever question.

Thank you for a terrific career at Texas Tech and good luck to you in the next step of your career.

Eligibility Chart

What you have all been waiting for . . . Since I have Benson as a non-scholarship player, I think that there is technically one spot available and we know that Texas Tech is still in on a couple of transfers, including Georgetown guard Mac McClung and Air Force guard A.J. Walker. There is obviously some room for some playing time for a guard here.
