1. Who is the opponent? Texas Tech (3-6, 2-6) will host the Kansas Jayhawks (0-8, 0-7)

2. What is the time and date of game? Saturday, December 5th at 11:00 a.m.

3. How do I watch or stream this game? The game is on FS2 and being streamed on FOXSportsGO.

4. What’s the opening line? Via OddsShark has Texas Tech as a 27.5 point favorite, which seems insane.

5. Scattershooting, while wondering what ever happened to . . . the ageless Paul Rudd. Rudd was born by two British-born Jewish parents, his father’s family name was Rudnitsky, and changed by his grandfather to Rudd. When Rudd was 10, his family moved to Lenexa, Kansas, and eventually attended the University of Kansas, and after graduating, he worked in Overland Park in Kansas, including glazing hams. Rudd’s filmography is incredibly long, my first memory of him was in Clueless with Alicia Silverstone, has been in Anchorman, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and Ant-Man. Rudd married in 2003( to someone he met while working on the movie Clueless) and they have a son and a daughter together. Rudd is an unabashed fan of all things Kansas City and the fact that he’s always been a live-or-die Kansas City fan (no matter the sport, whether it be the Royals, Chiefs, or Sporting Kansas City). If you wanted to brighten your day, watch this First We Feast, Hot Ones episode with Paul Rudd where he does mention Patrick Mahomes.

. . . Les Miles is the head coach and this does not appear to be going very well for the Jayhawks. I remember when Texas Tech was hiring a new head coach and a Kansas State friend of mine suggested Miles and I immediately had a bad thought that Miles at Texas Tech would not work. It was too much of a Tommy Tuberville vibe, a coach who wasn’t really in charge of anything, just hiring the coordinators, which is really what Texas Tech has now. Still, the Miles Experience isn’t really turning out well, but he’s having to recruit to small classes and trying to rebound from the over-indulgence of JUCO players from prior to Miles’ arrival . . . passing game coordinator Emmett Jones was one of the assistant coaches hired by Miles and I think a lot of fans didn’t like the idea of losing Jones, but I’ve been pretty happy with Joel Filani . . . Brent Dearman was a hot coordinator that was pulled from the ranks of Bethel College where he was really successful, but obviously, if you don’t have a quarterback, it’s hard to make lemonade out of garlic . . . I don’t know anything about the defensive coordinator, but it is D.J. Eliot (with the rare lone “l” and “t” in Elliott) and he was previously at Colorado and before that Kentucky and Florida State . . . if you want to know how good Kansas is, they are 124th in offensive scoring and 127th in defensive scoring, and there are 127 teams currently ranked . . .
