Texas Tech Basketball: Arkansas’ Corey Williams Hired As Assistant Coach

Texas Tech head coach Mark Adams hired Arkansas Assistant Coach Corey Williams. Williams has an interesting history in a way with Adams and Sean Sutton. Williams played for Eddie Sutton at Oklahoma State from 1988 through 1992. It just so happens that Sean Sutton played for Kentucky for the first half of his collegiate career and then transferred to Oklahoma State to play for his dad from 1990 through 1992, so Sean and Corey played together their junior and senior years.

As a coach, Williams was an assistant coach at Oral Roberts and Florida State as well as the head coach at Stetson (he didn’t have the best record, 58-133 in 6 season) and then hoped on at Arkansas starting in 2019 through the 2020-21 season.

Williams was probably pretty integral part of the recruiting process for Eric Musselman at Arkansas. I’d also add that Arkansas currently has a transfer in the portal, Desi Sills, a 6’2″ and 200 pound guard from Jonesboro who averaged 10.5 points as a sophomore and 7.5 points as a junior.
