Leading Off

TTU Red took advantage of a really great sunset I think on maybe Friday night and these are just a few of his photos and you should check out his twitter feed for more.

Texas Tech Volleyball

Texas Tech Soccer

Texas Tech Golf

Texas Tech Tennis

Texas Tech Softball

Texas Tech Basketball

A ton of fun watching this.

NCAA’s Joe Boozell writes about 6 freshmen who aren’t getting talked about enough and one of them is Khavon Moore, your guy at Texas Tech:

Supreme athletes who have the ability to create offense for others usually don’t exist in one player. Moore has both of those traits, and he should be a plus defender the moment he dons a Red Raider jersey. Beard will certainly coach him up on that end.

Moore could get bullied in the post once in a while, but post-ups are becoming more and more rare these days – especially from non-centers. His jumper could use some work, but his mechanics are fine. If Moore develops a decent outside stroke, he could terrorize the Big 12.

Texas Tech Football

I wasn’t sure where to put this, but A-J Media’s Don Williams spoke with Texas Tech athletic director Kirby Hocutt about  what it was like growing up in Sherman and playing football.

Miscellaneous . . . as of right now, OddsShark doesn’t have a line for Texas Tech vs. TCU, although this post from SB Nation seems to indicate that the line is TCU -10.5 and if you can get that line, I’d take those points in a heartbeat . . . if you care about what’s happening around the Big 12, via TheFootballBrainiacs, Oklahoma has fired Mike Stoops as the defensive coordinator and it would seem likely that Ruffin McNeill would be one of the candidates to replace Stoops . . . ESPN has their updated bowl projections (as an aside, I find these incredibly boring and wonder if you all find it boring to project bowl games 6 weeks into a season) and have Texas Tech playing at the Academy Sports + Outdoors Bowl in Houston against Auburn or the Camping World Bowl in Orlando against NC State . . .
