No. 13 Texas Tech tennis was selected to host the 1st and 2nd rounds of the NCAA Tournament!
The No. 13-ranked Texas Tech Lady Raiders were selected to host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament on Monday afternoon. As the 1-seed in the Lubbock Regional, Tech will welcome 2-seeded Stanford, 3-seeded FIU and 4-seeded Boston University to West Texas this weekend at the McLeod Tennis Center.
The Lady Raiders will take on Boston University in the first round on Friday at 1 p.m. Stanford and FIU will play at 10 a.m. on Friday as well. The winners will face in the second round on Saturday at 1 p.m.
On the Hardwood
Lady Raider basketball signed Mariam Sanogo (6’2″), who is the older sister of Sarengbe Sanogo and played at Canisius last year. Mariam is a senior and averaged 5.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, while shooting 44% from the floor and 70% from the free throw line.
On the Diamond
Texas Tech softball will host ACU for their final home game of the season with first pitch at 5:00 p.m.
Texas Tech baseball will host UTRGV for a 2-game series, first pitch is 1:00 p.m. today and 6:00 p.m. tomorrow.
On the Gridiron
Incarnate Word receiver Roy Alexander (5-10/200) will transfer to Texas Tech. Alexander started his collegiate career at Albany where heh played for 3 years and then transferred to Incarnate Word for the 2024 season where he had 100 receptions for 1,108 yards, 13 touchdowns, averaging 11.1 catches per game and 7.1 yards per reception.
