On the Pitch
Texas Tech soccer met with the media yesterday:
Tech begins its preseason training schedule on Tuesday at the John Walker Soccer Complex where it has a little over a week before traveling to play Denver in a scrimmage on Thursday, August 7 in Colorado. The preseason goes quick for the Red Raiders with the season-opener on the road at San Diego State on August 14 before their home opener against Youngstown State on Sunday, August 17.
“Each team has a certain level of veteran players that can get you to assimilate quicker,” Stone said. “We have that. The idea is that we are ready to go when we get to Denver. We have nine days and it’s going to be a strong preseason test because they’re a great team. I like our leadership and our player availability is high right now. Our goal is to have the team understand what the expectations are at each position and within our system. Beyond that, it’s all about competition and getting after it every day.”
