On the Pitch

Texas Tech defeated RV Santa Clara 2-1 last night. A Payton Parsons goal in the first 19 seconds was the initial goal on an RV Santa Clara lapse and Taylor Zdrojewski then scored a few minutes later where she just sort of bullied her way to a goal, creating space and nailing a shot past the goalie who committed way too early. Those are links to the game video, for whatever reason X/Twitter is not letting me embed the video. They will stay in California and play San Francisco on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

On the Hardwood

On the Gridiron

Quarterback Behren Morton, wide receivers Caleb Douglas and Reggie Virgil, defensive lineman Lee Hunter, and edge rushers David Bailey and Romello Height were named to top 300 players to watch by Reese’s Senior Bowl.

ESPN’s Pamela Maldonado has a Big 12 betting preview

CBS Sports’ Mike Renner with a top 50 list of NFL prospects, including David Bailey at No. 30.

Via CBS Sports’ Cody Nagel, the SEC has finally relented and will play a 9 game schedule starting in 2026 with the ACC to now likely having to do the same thing

Episode 3 of The Brand is on TexasTech.TV with the opening scene of head coach Joey McGuire going over practice video, then a bit on Lee Hunter, a focus on the Womble football facility led by Antonio Huffman and Dustin Womble himself, and then Cody Campbell talks about his legacy and his name on the football field. Rodney Allison videos in from Hawaii and to talk to the team about culture and believing in each other as a team when he played. Allison recalled an interception that he threw against Houston 49 years ago and how that still haunts him and encourages the team to spend just a minute more studying to prepare so that same moment doesn’t happen this year.
