Lubbock Avalanche-Journal’s Nathan Giese: How much will Texas Tech football beat Oklahoma State by in Week 9? Our prediction
Texas Tech 56, Oklahoma State 10: The Cowboys have scored more than 20 points just twice this season and have lost their last three games by an average score of 43-15.6. Add another couple of scores and allow one less than this average, and Texas Tech can call it a successful day at the office.

Even better, bring back the Picadors under the current 5-for-4 setup. For freshmen and other players not dirtying the uniform on Saturdays, put together a five-game JV schedule of regional opponents. Let administrators determine a price point that optimizes crowds and make some of the extra money they’re always needing.

On the Pitch
Texas Tech soccer: No. 5/3 Tech falls at No. 22/7 Colorado, 3-0
“Tonight was not a game where the stats tell the story. Colorado has given up double the amount of shots in other victories. This is a really dangerous offensive team. What tonight came down to was: effort, attitude, fight and poor team defending. We didn’t have a single defender cost us a goal tonight. Obviously, the own goal, their second goal, was brutal and it hurt. But those things happen. A bad bounce can go off your player and go in your own goal. Their second goal put us in a hole because we probably would have gone into the half down 1-0 and been ready to rumble in the second half. That hurt, and when we were pushing to make it 2-1 and turn the game on its head, their best player made the play that great players make. A hard and low shot into the corner and we didn’t block the shot. And the result is what it is. Credit Colorado they were the better team tonight, but we’re very disappointed in our overall fight and spirit. We’ve had that all season and it was missing tonight. When the biggest games have arrived, we’ve always shown up, and tonight wasn’t an example of that. It’s a game we’re going to certainly regret because it hurts us in the Big 12 standings. It doesn’t hurt us in the RPI and probably the rankings, but it hurts us in the standings. We have got to recover and regroup because we have a feisty K-State team coming in that has caused a lot of problems for people. So, it doesn’t get any easier. If we don’t fight more than we did tonight, then we can find ourselves in the same situation. This is a tough team, but we didn’t show that tonight.
UP NEXT: The Red Raiders will look to rebound on Sunday afternoon when they return home for a Sunday date with Kansas State. First touch for “Senior Day” is set for 1 p.m.
