I received a really nice message from the Buy Me a Coffee link below. The message was that they appreciated how much effort I put into STP and having and taking care of my boys and making them a priority. The person that wrote in said that he was adopted as well and it was Fitsum’s 16th birthday last week. Serendipity in a way to receive a nice positive message. It always feels nice to be appreciated, so thank you.

On the Hardwood

The Lady Raiders are a No. 7 seed in Region 2 and will be headed to Baton Rouge to take on the No. 10 seed Villanova on Friday at 7:30 p.m. If they win, they’ll face LSU on Sunday. This is the first NCAA appearance in 13 years for the Lady Raiders. Texas Tech is the 30th best team according to T-Rank and Villanova is the 27th best team. Not sure I totally understand that, but that seems like a pretty tough draw.

Texas Tech ended up with the No. 5 seed in the Midwest Region and will face Akron in Tampa on Friday at 11:40 a.m. Akron is the 64th best team according to KenPom, and the 71st according to Haslametrics and T-Rank.

On the Diamond

The softball and baseball open thread is fully updated, after losing the 1st game, softball run-ruled Arizona the next 2 games. And baseball won the 1st 2 games and the series, but lost the 3rd game yesterday afternoon.

On the Gridiron

Texas Tech received a commitment from 2027 Hoisington, Kansas 3-star defensive end Brody Pfannenstiel (6-4/230). Pfannenstiel had offers from Kansas state, Kansas, Illinois, Ole Miss, Louisville, Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Missouri, Michigan State, Duke, Iowa State, Utah, Arkansas, and Vanderbilt. That’s quite the list and since I don’t really follow recruiting, this was seemingly out of nowhere, but maybe for you all that follow recruiting closely, this was totally expected.

Recruiting Profiles: Rivals/On3 | 24/7 Sports

PFF has a 3 round mock draft and has 4 Texas Tech players picked, David Bailey, Lee Hunter, Jacob Rodriguez, and Romello Height.
