This past Saturday (maybe even during the NC State game, which is why I’m just now getting to this), Texas Tech received a commitment from Natchitoches Central offensive lineman Tyler Johnson.

Johnson is a large human, so large that this is a huge part of his game right now, which is pretty normal for high school players. Hands and feet are a huge part of the development of an offensive lineman and I think Johnson is still figuring that out, but Johnson has a long reach when he does utilize his hands and he’s got really nice athleticism and moves really well. I won’t guess where Johnson will end up, I think the staff tends to have an idea about players, for instance they think Jacoby Jackson is all guard and not tackle and I certainly had him as a tackle. Regardless, add a large human to the offensive line room for Stephen Hamby.
