Tennis

Tennis Rolls No. 39 William and Mary. The ladies tennis team rolled No. 39 William and Mary on Saturday and improved their record to 10-1 on the year:

“I thought mentally we did an extremely good job,” Texas Tech head coach Todd Petty said. “The conditions weren’t going to allow either team to play great tennis today. There wasn’t much difference between one and six, the tennis was going to be the same on all courts. We’re fortunate enough that we’ve been outside, so this is something we’re used to and we handled it a little better.”

Golf

Texas Tech Finishes 3rd at Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate. The men’s golf team finished 3rd overall at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate, backed by a strong performance from Hurly Long, who finished 5th overall:

“Obviously it wasn’t the finish we wanted today, but there were a lot of positives to take away,” Texas Tech head coach Greg Sands said. “Hurly Long was fantastic, finishing in the top five. We have a couple weeks now to fine-tune some things before our next tournament. I’m looking forward to getting back at it.”

Lady Raider Basketball

Lady Raiders Fall to Kansas State. The Lady Raiders are having a rough go at it, losing to Kansas State, 65-53 in Manhattan on Sunday:

“We’ve struggled all year to score the basketball and that continued today,” Texas Tech head coach Candi Whitaker said. “Kansas State makes it difficult, changing defenses as much as they do and showing different zones. It’s good experience for our young players to play against multiple defenses throughout the game like that.”
