Texas Tech held their Kickoff Luncheon yesterday and I wish we had more footage of more of the coaches, but we do get about 11 minutes of the Kingsbury Q&A with Robert Giovannetti that’s definitely worth your time today.
The first questions focus on Kingsbury’s hire of strength and conditioning coach Rusty Whitt and what he’s brought to the program. LAJ’s Don Williams wrote about that topic and Williams notes that Kingsbury talked about how Whitt has challenged the players in a positive way:
“They’ve done more than they thought they could do,” Kingsbury said. “Each and every day, he pushes them to the limit, so practice is easier after those summer workouts, and that’s what we wanted.
“Coach Whitt’s a Green Beret. He served tours in (Iraq), a true American hero. Those guys respect that, and they respect that he gets the most out of them.”
