On the Hardwood
The Lady Raiders defeated New Mexico, 82-57 in Albuquerque yesterday afternoon. Jalynn Bristow and senior Snudda Collins each had 16 points to lead the team. I am not the only one saying this, but Gemma Nunez is exactly what this team needed, a point guard that has no issue doing the dirty work, she played 28 minutes, had 8 assists, and 1 turnover for the day. Watch the highlights and on almost every single one of them is a result of a pass from Nunez.
On the Gridiron
The Athletic’s Ralph Russo and Stewart Mandel report that the general counsel for Texas Tech is advising that Texas Tech not sign the College Sports Commission agreement, which requires schools to comply with the new enforcement model:
In a memo to Texas Tech board chairman Cody Campbell obtained by The Athletic, Texas Tech University System general counsel Eric D. Bentley cites 16 sections of the agreement as rationale for why the school should not sign the agreement. Front Office Sports first reported the memo.
“(The agreement) requires the University, its representatives (which is defined too broadly), student-athletes and associated entities and individuals to comply with not only the current rules, policies, and procedures, but the University must also agree to comply with ‘any other policies and procedures that the CSC may from time to time adopt,’” he wrote. “Under this agreement, the CSC could adopt a rule or penalty that would apply retroactively to the University or its student athletes, impose severe penalties against the University or its student athletes, and the University would have contractually agreed to not take any action against CSC.”
And in case you want to know exactly what the memo says, well, Cody Campbell posted it:
Texas Tech University is in strong support of the House Settlement, and want rules to be established by the College Sports Commission that will bring some measure of order to the current chaotic situation in college sports. However, these rules must comply with State Law and… pic.twitter.com/opaUwELl2a

ESPN’s Bill Connelly with the week 13 recap and the chaos that looms. This is just the part about the Big 12, but this is always a fun read for me personally:
As with the Big Ten, we probably know what we’re getting in the Big 12 championship game: a BYU-Texas Tech rematch. There’s an 86% chance both BYU and Tech win this coming weekend, per SP+, and if they do, they’re in. If they don’t, however, the Territorial Cup and the Utah-Kansas game above could both play a role.
If Arizona State beats Arizona — an upset, according to SP+ — the Sun Devils could get back to Jerry World to defend its title if Kansas upsets Utah and either BYU or Texas Tech also loses. Utah, meanwhile, needs a win, wins by BYU and Arizona State and a massive upset loss for Texas Tech. Neither of these scenarios are likely, and we’re basically looking at a 98.8% chance that either Tech or BYU wins the conference crown. But true chaos lovers know that if there’s a 98.8% chance that something happens, there’s a 1.2% chance that it doesn’t!
