1. Stats. Let’s get to the good stuff first, the Horned Frogs are 72nd in the nation in offensive rebounding and they are 70th in getting to the line. That’s the good. They aren’t a terrible turnover team, 109th, but that’s not exactly great. Shooting is a problem, 231st in 3-point shooting and 191st in 2-point shooting, while 229th in block percentage (percentage of shots blocked). Defensively, the Horned Frogs do really well, they are 30th in forcing turnovers and they don’t foul, 68th in opponent free throw rate, while they are 29th in blocked shots. They don’t do a great job in opponent team shooting, 181st in opponent 3-point shooting and 146th in opponent 2-point shooting.

2. Scouting. Edmonds is really a heck of a player, just does so many things well. He’s a very good shot-blocker, has a good steal rate, gets to the line, makes 62% of his 2-point shots and 40% of his 3’s while being the best rebounder on the team. Punch isn’t far behind, but just not as versatile, a better shot-blocker and makes 56% of his 2-point shots. Lelevicious is the best 3-point shooter, so that will be something to watch, at 39% (more volume than Edmonds, who only has 40 attempts while Lelevicious has 100). But TCU isn’t a good 3-point shooting team, 232nd in 3-point rate.

3. How They Match Up. TCU didn’t start really well, they lost 6 out of their first 9 Big 12 games, but the turntables have turned. Since that initial stretch, they have won 6 out of 7 games, including a win against Iowa State at home, but also 2 wins against Kansas State, a win over Oklahoma State, and a win over West Virginia. Regardless, they are playing much better and winning more games they are losing, putting themselves squarely on the bubble. At this point, Texas Tech needs to play with an edge, this is not a time to slip and relax and I don’t get the feeling that Grant McCasland has them in “relax mode” in any way shape of form. They believe and he does too.

ESPN: AP men’s college basketball Top 25 poll breakdown

10. Texas Tech Red Raiders
Previous ranking: 16

2025-26 record: 22-7

Stat to know: Texas Tech has three wins against AP top-five opponents this season, its most such wins in a season in program history. The Red Raiders are also just the fifth team in AP poll history to win multiple road games against top-five opponents in a calendar month (defeated Arizona on Feb. 14, Iowa State on Feb. 28), and the first to do it since Oregon in January 2022.

What’s next: Tuesday vs. TCU, 7 p.m., FS1

As a result of Arizona’s win over Iowa State last night, Texas Tech has secured a top-4 seed in the Big 12 Tournament, which means they will have a double-bye and not play until Thursday, March 12th.

5. Official Site. The official site has their preview right here:

On a three-game winning streak and owning a 14-1 home record, No. 10 Texas Tech is set for its home finale with a matchup against TCU set for 6 p.m. on Tuesday at United Supermarkets Arena. The program will honor Donovan Atwell, Tyeree Bryan and Jack Francis along with student managers Armaan Bhakta, Kaden Farrell and Brody McClure before the game for its ceremony.

“In the USA, playing TCU and it’s Senior Night,” Texas Tech coach Grant McCasland said. “What a great opportunity for our team to keep going and get better. It will be a great night and great game. They’ve been winning and are on a run. They are crazy physical. They’re not shooting a great percentage, but they are scoring and doing it with elite physicality and offensive rebounding. It’s impressive. We’ve played some really good defenses recently against Cincinnati and Iowa State who are two of the better defenses in our league. You can add TCU to that mix – they’re right there with them. We know that our confidence is built by sharing the ball and that’s where we build our confidence in trusting each other to make the right play. When we do that and our heart is to make other people better is when we play great basketball.”
