Radio Silence. Just kinda wanted to point out that the football team hasn’t had any media availability for a full week after last week’s scrimmage. Again, we’ve been able to get by without any information for the week and personally, I think head coach Kliff Kingsbury has struck a pretty nice balance between not wanting to make the team available for every practice and making them available enough so that we get some news. I’m pretty sure things will pick up this week.

Person Embarrassed by Texas Tech. A person actually took the time to write a letter to the editor at the LAJ to state that pretty soon, the Texas Tech license plates will be too offensive to display:

All it will take is another 4-8 season or another defensive coordinator disappearance, or another walk-on quarterback starting or another top commitment defecting at the last minute, and my cherished Texas Tech license plate will be too offensive to proudly display any longer.

Here’s my public service announcement. If you are displaying your license plate because of the success or failure of the athletic programs of your team, then you bought those license plates for the wrong reason. You do it because you love your alma mater.

Men’s Golf Finishes 2nd at Aggie Invitational. The #10 men’s golf team finished second at the Aggie Invitational over the weekend. The #9 Sooners finished three strokes ahead of Texas Tech for the tournament.

Don’t forget that Matias Dominguez will make his appearance at the Masters on Thursday. The link above is from Kyle Porter who ranks all 98 entries in the Masters field.

Weekly Recruiting Update. Wreck’Em 24/7’s Michael LaBarre has his weekly recruiting update with updates as to the 2015 men’s basketball recruiting and 2016 football recruiting. I think we’ll see football recruiting be pretty quiet for another month or so and things will pick up once we start to get into theh summer.

Brewer’s Bad Back. Last week, I found a link about how former Red Raider Michael Brewer wasn’t practicing and his teammates didn’t know why. Well, it was because Brewer has a strained back and it is apparently not related to his back injury here at Texas Tech.

Gillispie Hired at Ranger College. In the most disappointing news that I’ve heard in quite some time, some college administrator decided to give Billy Gillispie another chance and has been hired at Ranger College. If a college administrator or president could ever be held liable for malpractice, this would be it as Gillispie tore through Texas Tech and it’s players leaving behind an absolute and complete mess.  The administrator knows what Gillispie did to Texas Tech, yet still hired him anyway.
