Texas Tech goes back to the Butler C.C. well with a commitment from Duron Lowe. You can check out Lowe’s freshman stats, but I don’t think they are accurate (says he only had 20 tackles and 1 interception and just watching the video he’s got more than that.

Lowe is the prototype for the cornerback that David Gibbs likes: at least 6’0″, good size, strong, supports the run, could play multiple positions. Lowe has good speed, doesn’t get the top blown off of him, but a lot of throws are under thrown. Lowe is pretty physical and that’s a trait that Gibbs likes a lot and you get to see Lowe’s speed as he returns some punts and kickoffs, displaying some pretty decent moves.

One other quick recruiting note, last weekend, OLB Ja’Quay Pough committed to Texas Tech and I couldn’t find a thing about him, well, the official recruiting Twitter handle re-tweeted a picture of Pough committing to Texas Tech and Rivals’ Matt Clare tweeted that Pough was part of the 2018 class. I think he just played his freshman year, so he must have had his grades in order.
