Baseball

Texas Tech defeated Kansas State 5-3 behind a strong performance from freshman Mason Molina making his first start, going 6.2 innings, giving up 3 hits, 3 earned runs, walking 2, and striking out 10. Austin Becker got the save in the 9th inning. Kurt Wilson went 3-4 on the day with a run scored, Dillon Carter went 1-3 with 2 RBI and Parker Kelly went 1-2 with an RBI and 2 runs scored.

Texas Tech will throw out RHP Andrew Morris (7-1, 4.54 ERA) and Oklahoma will toss LHP Jake Bennett (6-3, 1.09 ERA) at 7:30 tonight as the Sooners and Red Raiders meet in round 2 of the Big 12 Tournament at Globe Life Field. You can follow the game on the internet here and watch on ESPN+.

Basketball

There is a decent amount of smoke that Canadian guard/forward Elijah Fisher (6-7/210) will commit to Texas Tech today. Fisher is a 5-star player that would be the highest or one of the highest player to ever commit to Texas Tech. Nothing is given until a player shows up and signs, but things are tending in that direction.

In other good news, center Fardaws Aimaq has withdrawn from the NBA Draft and will be in Lubbock shortly.

Football

Dallas Morning News’ Ryan Mainville continues his countdown of Texas Tech’s top 15 players with 10 through 6 and I’ll go with #7 receiver Myles Price:

No. 7: Myles Price / Junior / WR
Price has proven to be a quality starter at inside receiver for Texas Tech. He’s the only player on the roster who caught more than 20 passes as a Red Raider last season. He’s had an impressive first two seasons at Texas Tech, totaling 1,030 scrimmage yards and five touchdowns. Now, it’s time for his best.
