A relatively quiet day. I think that Texas Tech is still hosting a couple of players, Auburn WR Cam Coleman (6-3/201), who has taken visits at Texas A&M, Alabama, Texas, and maybe somewhere else. The other player is Minnesota S Koi Perich (6-1/200), who will be a junior and although he’s listed as a safety, he returns kickoffs, punts, and also plays receiver.

5. Committed on 1/7/2026:
- Miami (OH) DE Adam Trick (6-4/249): I guess I jumped the gun on this a bit, but I could swear that Trick put out on social media that he committed on 1/6/ 2026; however, it became official on 1/7/2026. Repeating what I wrote yesterday: “As a junior, Trick had 59 tackles, 12.5 tackles for a loss, 8.5 sacks, 13 quarterback hurries, 4 passes broken up, 3 forced fumbles, and an interception. That’s a lot of production no matter where you are playing.”
- Pittsburgh WR Kenny Johnson (6-1/205): As a junior Johnson averaged 14.48 yards a catch, about 54 receiving yards a game, with 5 touchdowns. He was also a really talented punt returner, 14 returns for 179 yards, nearly 13 yards a return with a touchdown.

ESPN ranks the top 50 of the portal class and here’s the Texas Tech list (there are write-ups if you visit the link and am a bit surprised that LB Austin Romaine isn’t on that list):

14. DE Trey White
36. DE Adam Trick
The Lady Raiders defeated West Virginia, 71-66 last night in a tough defensive game. Bailey Maupin was sublime, scoring 27 points on 8 of 15 from the field and 4 of 7 from deep. Snudda Collins was the only other player in double-figures, scoring 19 points. Texas Tech held West Virginia to 39% from the field and 29% from beyond the arc and the Mountaineers were also just 12 of 20 from the line, despite that home court advantage. The Lady Raiders will be in Cincinnati on Saturday to take on the Bearcats.
