Attalah is really big and over-powering. He looks really athletic and those are all traits that you sort of want in a tackle. He’s already 290 with that frame and is just going to get bigger. Much like anything else, this is a 2028 commit so there’s a long ways to go. As you all know, Jalen Brewster, formerly of Cedar Hill, has been committed to Texas Tech, but is set to decide between Texas Tech and LSU. Just typing that sentence doesn’t make a ton of sense, so if it happens on signing day then that’s great.
Via ESPN, the Big Ten and the SEC have banned players who have appeared on professional rosters, declared for a draft, or signed a contract with a professional team. This is as a result of LSU signing a couple of players that were just cut from NFL teams, however, CBS Sports is reporting that Lane Kiffin and LSU recruited these players to come to LSU, which changes things a little bit. And Kiffin and the attorneys are saying, well, how can these leagues just ignore a court order and I’d ask them to rationalize how this all works with the fact that Brendan Sorsby also had a court order.
Lubbock Avalanche-Journal’s Nathan Giese recapped head coach Joey McGuire’s thoughts on the matter, which is that the players are going to sue the conferences. McGuire also said that they should have announced the 5-for-5 rule in October rather than in June, which would have given everyone time to figure things out. I still think we would be dealing with the things we are dealing with now because Kiffin is gonna Kiffin.
Ryan Downton, one of the attorneys representing players in the Louisiana case, tells @YahooSports that the NCAA should be held “in contempt of court for permitting conferences under its purview to blatantly violate court orders,” and he plans to file such a motion.

Presser today from head coach Joey McGuire. Lots of discussion on the 5th year players attempting to play and the likely incoming lawsuits. He also talked about the improving offensive line and Hunter Zambrano doing well as well as Quinten Joyner improving.

McGuire listed several players who have been dealing with injuries that aren’t thought to be long-term, including cornerback Ashton Hampton (medial collateral knee ligament), edge defender LaDamion Guyton (back-muscle strain), offensive lineman Cash Cleveland (AC shoulder joint sprain) and defensive tackle Bryce Butler.
He said offensive lineman Ellis Davis and wide receiver Tristian Gentry practiced Tuesday after missing time recently, and Butler practiced on a non-contact basis. Cleveland is expected to rejoin practice next week.

Tech coaches took care of him, and Hall took care of them. He redshirted in 1989, then led the Red Raiders in passing and total offense every year for the next four years. It wasn’t until last year that he was bumped from the top five in Tech’s career passing and total offense lists.
As Tech skill-position triumvirates go, the early 1990s big three of Hall, Hill and Bam Morris are hard to top. Hill was a second-team all-American. Morris set the Southwest Conference single-season rushing record while winning a Doak Walker Award.
