ESPN’s Bill Connelly has QB rankings for all 68 Power 4 teams and Will Hammond is at . . . #38.

ESPN’s Heather Dinich has teams on the right side and wrong side of the playoff bubble, and Texas Tech, along with Utah and Cincinnati are on the wrong side with BYU as the only team.

On3’s Pete Nakos reports that Colorado will start quarterback Isaac Wilson, who is the younger brother of NFL’er Zach Wilson.

CBS Sports’ Tom Fornelli has his power rankings and Texas Tech at No. 12, right behind Utah:

But not by much! I can already see the angry BYU messages (you guys aren’t far behind) for having both Utah and Tech ahead of them, but while the Red Raiders haven’t been nearly as good as they were last year, they’re still good. That said, the reality of the situation right now is that my teams ranked between 11 and 18 are separated by little more than a field goal. We’re likely to see a lot of churn in this area for the rest of the season. Last Week: NR | Title Odds: +5200

Red Raider Sports’ Lane Selph on Colorado head coach Deion Sanders thoughts on Joey McGuire:

“Coach McGuire, good friend of mine, much love and respect,” Sanders said. “I met his wonderful and beautiful wife at Big 12 Media Days, and she is an extension of who he is. I have been knowing Joey for a long time. He changed high school football in the Cedar Hill area and my son, Junior, Deion Jr., played for him.” Sanders continued, “He has proven he can go against the grain and he don’t give a darn, and I love him to life. Especially when I saw him in that new Corvette all hooked up,” Sanders said while smiling. “He is just overall a great dude.”

CBS Sports’ Brad Crawford has overrated and underrated teams and Texas Tech falls in the overrated category:

What have the Red Raiders shown poll voters over four wins to convince them they’re still worthy of their preseason slot at No. 12? There are at least two — heck, three other nationally ranked Big 12 teams if you want to include Oklahoma State — that are more attractive at this point as a potential league frontrunner pick. The offense seems to have lost its mojo in the run game, and Will Hammond has had decision-making issues through the air.

The one caveat to Texas Tech hanging around the top 15 is that the Red Raiders only have to play one other currently ranked opponent the rest of the way. This season could end in another playoff letdown after a conference title and a first-round upset.

Red Raider Sports’ Mason Turnbow on the defense being accountable:

“Um, it’s the same every Sunday. It’s a time to look back, and you forget that. You don’t think about the win or the loss. Roberts said, “You think about where can we get better, and we have continued to get better, and we can see that on film.” But like always, there’s always going to be mistakes. But it’s good to make those mistakes early so that we can be the best team we need to be at the end of the year.”
