LAJ’s Don Williams writes that this game against Arizona State is the type of game that Patrick Mahomes needs to shine:

If Tech’s serious about being more than a .500 team — and when fall rolls around, rising above the middle of the pack in the Big 12 — this is exactly the kind of game in which you have to prevail. ASU went 6-7 a year ago and, picked fifth in the six-team Pac-12 South Division, isn’t expected to do much better this year.

As much as the Arizona State offense struggled last week, the Mahomes Magic ought to simply outscore the other guys. The Tech quarterback got less than ideal pass protection against Stephen F. Austin, but sometimes I wonder if Mahomes doesn’t like it that way. Gives him a chance to show off. He still frolicked around, threw four touchdown passes, rushed for a couple more and finished with 540 yards total offense.

Pretty cool play breakdown from head coach Kliff Kingsbury. Of course, Spencer will be around to break down his own play on Saturday.

Well, via Red Raider Outfitter, Arizona State has already prohibited tortillas this week.

According to Jack Anderson, he’ll be signing his financial aid agreement with Texas Tech. I wonder if the coaches will converse with Anderson, which they will be able to do once he signs the financial stuff. When Stidham did this, there was the potential for NCAA violations after the fact, which is sorta crazy to consider.
