Sub 10/20 in the 100/200m on the Same Day. This is a fantastic statistic from LetsRun:
Texas Tech’s Divine Oduduru, the NCAA indoor and outdoor 200 champ from Nigeria and Texas Tech, became, according to Jon Mulkeen, the 10th man in history to go sub-10 for 100 meters and sub-20 for 200 meters on the same day. Oduduru ran 9.94 (0.8m/s) at the Michael Johnson Invitational in Waco on Saturday before coming back less than an hour later to run 19.76 (0.8 m/s).
That great run motivated us to rank the 15 sub-10/sub-20 100/200 doubles from the same day in terms of cumulative time.
The research reveals that Oduduru’s cumulative time of 29.70 is the 3rd best 100/200 double in history.
This is third fastest in the history of ever, not just NCAA competition, but ever. Absolutely fantastic statistic.

Texas Tech Baseball
New Mexico vs. Texas Tech. This was originally set to be a two-game series, but both teams decided to cancel Wednesday’s game (maybe because of weather?). LHP Mason Montgomery will get today’s start today, 3-0, 4.15 ERA while New Mexico has not named a starter yet. Texas Tech head football coach Matt Wells will throw out the first pitch.
Tomorrow night. Let’s keep building.

ESPN’s Top 100 & 2019 Class Rankings. ESPN released their final top 100 for the 2019 class and two Red Raiders are on the list, Jahmius Ramsey at #28 and Terrence Shannon, Jr. at #89. ESPN also had their updated class rankings and Texas Tech checks in at #17. This list will change as there are still some unsigned players, but Texas is at #14, Oklahoma is at #19, and Oklahoma State is at #22. ESPN is including Ramsey, Shannon, guard Kevin McCullar, center Russel Tchewa, forward Khalid Thomas, and forward Andrei Savrasov as part of the 2019 class. Thomas and Savrasov are not rated, ESPN typically doesn’t rate JUCO players and I think Savrasov is a complete unknown. Remember that Beard & Co. could still add two more to the 2019 class so that #17 ranking could improve. I’m also guessing that Kansas will sign a couple of guys and vault into the top 25.
