Texas Tech 9, FIU 6. Only one of the two scheduled games were played yesterday, the second game was canceled due to potential weather. The good news is that Cam Warren is hotter than heck right now, going 2-4 with 5 RBI, Dyaln Neuse went 3-4 and Braxton Fulford went 2-2 yesterday. The bad is that Erikson Lanning didn’t make it out of the third inning and catcher Mason Minzey had a rough day (2 errors). Also, FIU was wearing solid navy pinstripe uniforms and chrome gold helmets. They were offensively terrific uniforms.
The team has the weekend off for finals and will be back in action next weekend at home against TCU.
34-14, 14-7

Making a Move. Via BaseballAmerica’s Teddy Cahill, your Red Raiders are making a run:
A week after mentioning Texas Tech as a team to watch, the Red Raiders move back into the field for the first time in a couple months. After their sweep at Oklahoma, I think itβs fair to say theyβve found their form here in the second half of the season. Itβs taken Texas Tech some time to get to that place, but Tim Tadlock has found the right combination for this team. Moving out is Oregon State, which is going through a rough patch the last couple of weeks, a fact that was hammered home with four home losses this week. The Beavers could well turn it around, and their pitching staff remains one of the best in the country, but, in case anyone needed another reminder, this is not the team from the last two seasons.

Madison Square Garden, Part II. Well, if you were thinking of buying a nice brownstone in one of the burroughs, you’ll get some use out of it as Texas Tech is headed back to New York City to be a part of the Jimmy V Classic, the other three teams are UConn, Louisville, and Indiana.
Sources: UConn, Louisville, Indiana, and Texas Tech will be the four teams at the 2019 Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden in December. Matchups are TBD. #iubb

Texas Tech at the State Capital. Texas Tech invaded Austin and some select members of the basketball team and Coach Beard were at the state capital to be honored for their NCAA Tournament run. Notice that Beard is wearing a suit, which is great, but he makes it back to Lubbock later to be part of the donation to the Hope Lodge in Lubbock.
Had a great time today visiting the state capitol.
Thank you for inviting us and being great hosts, @GregAbbott_TX, @DanPatrick and @RepDennisBonnen!
