Most Important. NCAA’s Andy Katz ranks the most important (not the best, but the most important) players in the Big 12 for 2019 and at #3 is freshman Texas Tech guard Jahmius Ramsey:
3.) Jahmius Ramsey, 6-2, Fr., Texas Tech: The Red Raiders return key guards Davide Moretti and Kyler Edwards. They will be the key members of a core for Chris Beard after losing Jarrett Culver’s slashing and Matt Mooney’s timely shooting. But Ramsey has a chance to be a star for the Red Raiders. If Ramsey lives up to his hype as a freshman, then the Red Raiders will have the scoring pop needed on the perimeter and the defensive prowess to be in thick of the race for the Big 12 and another deep March run. But they may need Ramsey to help them cross that threshold.

Hyder Excited. Former Red Raider footballer Kerry Hyder signed a one year deal with the Dallas Cowboys during the offseason and A-J Media’s Stephen Hunt writes about how Hyder is excited for the opportunity, but also very appreciative of his time in Lubbock:
“It’s probably the best decision I ever made in my life, is to go out to Lubbock,” he said. “I was able to be there through three different changes, being one of the last Leach recruits. Then Coach Tuberville to getting Kingsbury. I had a mixed bag of everybody. Just seeing what they’re doing now with the new coaches and everything, I’m just excited for this season for what they’re going to do.”
As an aside, Hyder’s Twitter is normally filled with a ton of Texas Tech re-tweets and such and he was in Austin to watch Texas Tech T&F win the national championship.
