As we close the book on Texas Tech Baseball’s 2019 campaign we find there are still exciting things happening for former Red Raider players in the professional ranks. I’ve outlined what I know about where things sit for them currently. If you have any further information or insight please feel free to share in the comments. This is a list that is ALWAYS changing.
I learned a lot in researching for this post and have included some Red Raiders that are currently playing in MLB, I included them first and then included players from A-AAA split by fielders and pitchers below.

Gardner has 30 extra base hits to his name in his MiLB career, including 8 HR. He boasts an OPS of .825 as well. | ||||
Grant Little CF |
2017-2018 | Fort Wayne TinCaps | A | Little is featured on the TinCaps Twitter account almost weekly for the incredible diving catches he became known for at Texas Tech. He is batting .263 this season with 20 R, 24 BB, and 6 SB on the season so far. | |||
Cody Farhat CF |
2016-2018 | A | Farhat was recently promoted from Short Season A ball after breaking his wrist during Spring Training. He’s hitting .320 and slugging .600 so far in 2019. | ||||
Orlando Garcia 2B |
2015-2017 | A | Garcia is currently listed on the injured list for the GreenJackets. His MiLB career has seen him hit 15 HR with a .243 batting average and 13 stolen bases. | ||||
Hunter Hargrove 1B |

Hargrove hit .290 last season with the Beloit Snappers hitting 9 HRs and 68 RBI, he was promoted to Advanced A ball for the 2019 season. In May of 2018 Hargrove belted 3 HRs and drove in 7 runs for the Beloit Snappers’ first three-homer game in 19 years. He also hit safely in 15 straight games, the second longest hitting streak by an A’s farmhand that season. By mid-May he was batting an organizational best .313 hitting .393 with 8 2B and 6 RBI during the hitting streak. | ||||

Davis was recently profiled in an article HERE outlining his being cut from Texas Tech’s fall roster and returning two weeks later. He’s hitting246 in 2019 with a 25:6 stolen base to caught stealing ratio. | ||||
Michael Davis SS |
2015-2018 | AA | Davis was recently promoted to AA ball, the first of his Red Raider teammates from the 2018 draft class. He moved up almost immediately from Rookie ball after only three games where he hit .429 with 1 HR and 4 RBI in 14 ABs. Davis, a Lubbock native and Lubbock High School graduate, was drafted in the 24th round by the Minnesota Twins. | ||||
Barrett Barnes OF |
2010-2012 | AA | Barnes was taken in the first round of the 2012 MLB Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates. He made it as high as AAA in 2017 as a member of the Indianapolis Indians in the International League. In 2019 he is hitting .255 with 35 RBI and 24 R. | ||||

2013-2016 | AA | Neslony has been making waves since May and has hit .323 over his last 10 games. He hit a three-run HR on May 29 to beat the Pensacola Blue Wahoos and has been coming up with big walks and hits throughout June. | ||||

2016-2018 | Gulf Coast League Cardinals | Rookie | Gingery underwent Tommy John surgery in 2018 after his season ended in his first start of the season. Many attribute Gingery’s injury to being overthrown by Team USA over the summer of 2017 after a National Pitcher of the Year season. He has yet to pitch in pro-baseball. | |||
Jose Quezada P |
2017-2018 | Fort Wayne TinCaps | A | Quezada is 5-1 in 2019 with the TinCaps with an impressive 1.50 ERA. He’s allowing only a BA of .215 with 46 Ks. | |||

A | Damron is trending towards his best season in professional baseball since being drafted in 2016. Through 13.0IP he has an ERA of 2.08 and is only allowing a BA of .143. | |||

Howard is in his second season with the Potomac Nationals. He boasts a 3.32 ERA and a 4-2 record in 96.0 IP. | ||||

Mushinski has moved up in each of his seasons in the MiLB. Over his career he boasts an ERA of 2.65 in 149.2 IP. He’s allowing a BA of .201 and has a record of 7-3 in 47 games with 20 starts. | ||||
Jacob Patterson P |
2015-2017 | AA | Patterson is one of only two Red Raiders currently playing in the Texas League and playing through both Midland and Amarillo. Patterson was promoted to start the season in AA ball and has a 4-4 record since his debut. | ||||
Ryan Moseley P |
2014-2016 | AA | Moseley is one of two Red Raiders currently playing in the Texas League and playing through both Midland and Amarillo. In 17 relief appearances in Advanced A ball earlier in 2019 he posted an impressive 0.69 ERA. | ||||
Corey Taylor P |
2013-2015 | AAA | Taylor was promoted to AAA in 2018 to the Las Vegas 51s where he played 16 games. Through 10 games in 2019 he boasts a 2.37 ERA in 19.0IP. | ||||

2013-2015 | AAA | Custred played for three teams in 2018, finishing in AA ball with the Mobile BayBears. He was promoted back to AAA for the 2019 season where he has made five appearances. | ||||
Robert Dugger P |
2016 | AAA | Dugger was promoted to AAA just a few days ago and impressed in his first start posting 5.1IP, 5H, 2R, 2ER, 1BB, 6K. Dugger saw a two-game stint in AAA in 2016 after Rookie Ball but has worked his way back to this point since that time. The Marlins currently list him as #22 of their Top 30 Prospects. |
When opportunities in the MiLB system run out, some players opt to continue pursuing their baseball career in independent baseball leagues. These teams are not part of the MiLB/MLB system and therefore stats can be more difficult to track. Below are those Red Raiders still playing with stats in the 2019 season.
