Big 12 Preseason Honors. The Big 12 preseason awards were released and on your team is the preseason player of the year in outfielder Dylan Neuse, plus pitcher Micah Dallas, infielder Cal Conley, and designated hitter Nate Rombach.
Three Preferred Walk-On’s Commit. Kind of a busy day for preferred walk-on’s.
* It started with Lovejoy safety/receiver Chief Collins (6-0/180). Collins finished the year with 105 tackles, 7 interceptions, 3 touchdowns, 7 pass break-ups, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 fumble recoveries and you can check out his senior highlights on Hudl. RedRaiderSports’ Ben Golan talked with Collins, who is the son of a former Red Raider footballer, Chad Collins.
* Up next was Argyle receiver Cole Kirkpatrick (6-1/180). In Kirkpatrick’s senior year, he caught 69 passes for 1,301 yards and 17 touchdowns and you can check out his senior season highlights on Hudl. RedRaiderSports’ Ben Golan talked to Kirkpatrick, both of his parents went to Texas Tech so that’s two legacies thus far.
* The third commit is Grapevine receiver Ben Gair (6-1/185). Gair caught 67 passes for 861 yards and 13 touchdowns and you can check out Gair’s senior season highlights on Hudl.
West Virginia 73, Texas Tech 53. The Lady Raiders fell to West Virginia, 73-53, struggling to shoot for the most part, making only 39% of their shots. The next game is in Austin against Texas on Saturday.
