Texas Tech lost to Kansas Sate 6-5 (box score), thus ending their Big 12 Tournament run. Texas Tech will await their conference tournament placement on Monday’s NCAA Selection Show and that will be at 11:00 a.m.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnorowski reported that the Los Angeles Lakers hired Darvin Ham, previously a Milwaukee Bucks assistant, to be the head coach:

Ham separated himself in the process in recent days, interviewing with Lakers officials Thursday and inspiring an offer Friday afternoon, sources said. The Lakers were sold on Ham’s stature and toughness, his history of coaching star players and championship pedigree as an assistant and player, sources said. Ham’s history with the Lakers franchise for two seasons — 2011-2013 — played a part in his hiring, too.

If you think a punter cracking the top five of a roster ranking is strange, you probably haven’t seen Austin McNamara boot a football. In 2021, McNamara averaged 48.2 yards per punt — the highest in Texas Tech and Big 12 history. Punters can truly be game changers, and there’s a legitimate argument that McNamara is the most valuable player on the Texas Tech roster.
