Texas Tech – Kerr’s magic strike pushes Tech past FGCU, 1-0:

Powered by a pair of world class passes from Peyton Parsons and Giselle Kozarski and a magical finish by Alex Kerr, the second-seeded Red Raiders (16-1-4) will move on to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament where the seventh-seeded Princeton Tigers wil await one week from tonight (Nov. 17).

Texas Tech – Three Lady Raiders post double figures in victory over Tarleton:

Senior Jordyn Merritt led the team with 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting, while adding two three-pointers, three rebounds and an assist. Sophomore Bailey Maupin was right behind as she posted 16 points and .500 shooting with four rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block. Sophomore Jasmine Shavers recorded her second game in a row with double-figure scoring as she had 11 points with six boards and two steals.

Lubbock Avalanche-Journal’s Don Williams – First look at new Big 12 isn’t inspiring hope | Williams:

BYU, Cincinnati, UCF and Houston all were riding high, but taking them came with a risk: If the right coach left or a good run of players ran out of eligibility, their programs were much more vulnerable to downturn than marquee programs in the power five. We’re seeing that with Cincinnati, which lost coach Luke Fickell between the time it joined the Big 12 and began playing in the Big 12.

Midland Reporter Telegram’s Oscar LeRoy – LEROY: Texas Tech, Morton face must-win at Kansas:

Unlike the Bears, these Jayhawks are pretty good on both sides of the ball. Jason Bean, a North Texas transfer, has taken over the starting quarterback position and has done a really good job, especially with his feet. And good running quarterbacks have always given the Red Raiders headaches (like Kansas State’s Avery Johnson).

Action Network – Texas Tech vs Kansas Odds, Pick, Prediction | College Football Betting Preview (Saturday, November 11):

Overall, the Jayhawks defense has struggled, but they actually looked pretty impressive in Ames last weekend when they held the Cyclones to just 2.6 yards per carry. This was a massive improvement from their three previous games against Oklahoma State, UCF and Oklahoma as they allowed 5.3 yards per carry over that span.

Red Raider Sports’ Julio Gonzales, Jr. – The Recruiting Six-Pack: TTU lands 2025 four-star QB Lloyd Jones III:

Nick Brooks. 2025 offensive tackle, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. (Kennedy HS). 5.8 four-star, #135 nationally, #12 OT, and #1 in Iowa.

Texas Tech offered Cedar Rapids (Kennedy), Iowa offensive tackle Nick Brooks, on November 2 when he was on hand for the TCU game. He had been committed to Iowa since September, when he chose them over Alabama, Georgia, Florida State, and Tennessee. His cousin is current Red Raider defensive back Miles Thompson, which can only help in trying to get him to play in Lubbock.

Red Raider Sports’ Jarrett Ramirez – Tech locked in for morning contest against dangerous No. 16 Jayhawks:

Preseason Big 12 Player of the Year Jalon Daniels has been missing in action with a back injury, in his place is the man that took on the Red Raiders a season ago in Jason Bean. The sixth-year senior Bean might be the fastest player in the country, being clocked at 22.4 miles per hour on a 38-yard touchdown run against Oklahoma. That is faster than any NFL player has clocked this season, including Tyreek Hill. Bean does not do it alone however, and it is his tandem of running backs alongside him that make the offense tick. Devin Neal continues to be one of the premier backs in the league. Neal has 828 rushing yards this season to go along with nine touchdowns. Daniel Hishaw is a force as the second tailback, with 517 yards of his own and eight touchdowns. Kansas uses an option based offense to allow their three runners to go to work.
