The Lady Raiders started off Big 12 play with a win on the road against Houston and tonight they host the Texas Longhorns with tip-off at 6:00 p.m. The game will be on ESPN+ and the Longhorns are 13-1 on the year and ranked No. 10 in the nation.

A couple of housekeeping items. I added a place for you to add an email address if you’d like posts emailed to you. If you’re on a mobile device, then it will be down a bit, but if you’re on a laptop then it should be to the right. I am not keeping your email addresses for anything, WordPress just sort of does it without me being involved at all and I really don’t even know if it works, but am hoping that it does!

2023 year in review!

Each year after National Signing Day, Red Raider Sports does a Q&A with commits and I’ll link to them when they are published. The first seven: offensive lineman Jackson Hildebrand; long-snapper Rylan Vagana; receiver Tyson Turner; receiver Lorenzo (LJ) Johnson; offensive lineman Holton Hendrix; athlete Chandlin Myers; and cornerback Isaiah Collins.

On3’s Charles Powers is at the Uner Armour All-American game and noted that Texas Tech signee Ellis Daavis looked quite different than his peers.

Ellis Davis moved at a different speed than the rest of the offensive linemen on Day 1 at Under Armour practices. At 6-foot-7 and a lean 275 pounds, he has a tall, developmental frame for the position. Davis is very light on his feet, bouncing around the field and carrying his weight quite well. While many of the other linemen tended to lumber in their movements, Davis was twitchy and coordinated. The rest of the week will ultimately tell the tale with these offensive linemen, as we saw little to no contact on Saturday. We’ll be paying attention to Davis’ play strength and anchor once the action goes fully live, but there’s no question he looked to be the most athletic offensive lineman at Saturday’s practice. – Charles Power

It should also be noted that Micah Hudson was not active for some of the practices as he’s been dealing with a lower body injury, but I think I saw a couple of highlights yesterday.

Pop Isaacs was named the Big 12 Player of the Week! Congrats!

Via The Wichita Eagle’s Kellis Robinett, Kansas State head coach Chris Klieman is hoping to add former Texas Tech head coach Matt Wells as the quarterbacks coach and co-offensive coordinator spot at K-State.

The football training facility is gone.

Red Raider Sports’ Julio Gonzalez, Jr. writes about the latest Texas Tech offers, which we’re at the point these are 2025 and 2026 offers.
