1. Stats. TCU s pretty darned good offensively, 57th in 2-point shots, 20th in offensive rebounding, and 78th in 3-point shooting. That’s really is what drives the offense. What holds the offense back is 226th in turnover percentage, and 107th in free throw rate. They also don’t make a ton of their free throws, 193rd overall. On defense, they force a ton of turnovers, 26th in the nation and they are also decent at defending the 3’s, 79th overall. TCU isn’t great at holding opponents inside, 197th in defensive 2-point percentage and 219th in opponent free throw rate.
2. Scouting. Miller is the best player, an excellent offensive player, 51% from 2’s and 40% from 3’s, while not turning the ball over. I highlighted the fact that Peavy couldn’t shoot 3’s last time and he made a bunch, so I am mentioning it, but surely it can’t happen two times in a row. O’Bannon and Tennyson are the other good 3-point shooters. Nelson and Anderson are the best passers and Udeh and Mostafa are the best rebounders as well as the best shot-blockers.
3. How They Match Up. T-Rank has Texas Tech as a 5+ point favorite. TCU doesn’t shoot a ton of 3-point shots, but that’s not good news with an injured Warren Washington (who did practice yesterday, so that’s hopeful). We’ve gotten to the point where Isaacs is not a good 3-point shooter, only 31% overall, while it might surprise you that McMillian, Walton, and Williams should be shooting more, but not Isaacs at this point. I also think we’re at the point where Lindsay is a good rebounder and should get similar minutes to Jennings.

5. Official Site. The official site has their preview right here:
Back in the national rankings and back at home, No. 23 Texas Tech looks to avenge a road loss in Fort Worth when it hosts TCU at 8 p.m. on Tuesday at United Supermarkets Arena. The Red Raiders and Horned Frogs own the exact same records at 18-7 overall and 7-5 in Big 12 play, but TCU holds the advantage after it claimed an 85-78 win on January 30 to extend a streak of four straight wins in the series.
“We’re excited about playing TCU on Tuesday,” Texas Tech coach Grant McCasland said. “The real emphasis for us is how much better can we get defensively. How much better can we get rebounding the basketball. If we can keep making progress in those areas we’ll get to where we need to get. I think our guys have been great. Not turning the ball over and giving them baskets in transition is important. They are an active team that has better defensively. Taking care of the ball and getting great shots is going to be important for us.”
