I promise that I will get to more fun things than just Morning Stakes, I just need to limp towards the finish line that is the end of school, which is just a couple of weeks away.
On the Diamond
Logah Hughes was named Big 12 Co-Player of the Week:
A potential first round pick in July’s MLB Draft, Hughes is now hitting .368 with 16 home runs and 68 RBIs. Hughes also has 15 doubles and a triple, meaning 32 of his 70 hits have gone for extra-bases. With just three games left in the regular season, Hughes is slashing .368/.496/.711.
On the Hardwood
Christian Anderson is at the NBA Draft Combine and the max vert is a good number as is the wingspan, but didn’t measure as tall as some thought. Regardless, he shot the hell out of the ball.

On the Gridiron
Jeff Fuller via X/Twitter has the revenue numbers for the Big 12. I don’t understand any of this, why does Kansas have such a huge amount of revenue compared to Texas Tech or why does Arizona State have such a huge amount in subsidies. I know this is more questions than answers, but at least I’m not pretending to be an expert. Hat-tip to Open for Business.
Updated revenue data for Big12 schools, both from MFRS reports for public schools and EADA reports for ALL schools
In general, the MFRS data is more vetted & detailed and does include the amount of revenue that is actually from subsidies (student fees,… https://t.co/aaYibH8e1Q pic.twitter.com/TD4I4lMcy7

At first I thought, I am not reading an article on Twitter/X and then I realized that it was Cody Alexander, who is one of the smarter writers out there about defense, and then I got towards the end and then goes to his website, which is largely behind a paywall. So you can read a portion or sign up and get the article for free and this is either terrific or a let-down.
Texas Tech football announced a sell out of season tickets, more than 33,400 season tickets.
