Congrats to former Texas Tech coach Tubby Smith for being named to the Coolege Basketball Hall of Fame! There are a lot of people who talk about pulling a program out the gutter and then there’s Tubby Smith who rescued Texas Tech from terrible hires and what seemed like a an eternity of bad moves.

The Big 12’s not taking enough action against Kansas and Lance Leipold over that thing with the pocketknife. Other Big 12 athletics directors saying mean things about Texas Tech. The NCAA’s being slow to look into how Sorsby broke NCAA rules against gambling for two years at Cincinnati. Commissioner Brett Yormark’s being thin-skinned and refusing to discuss the Sorsby situation at last week’s Big 12 media days.
Heck, people are outraged even at the conference’s signing a sponsorship with Monster Energy that’ll have the beverage brand’s name on Big 12 football and basketball events and its creepy M stuck on team uniforms and venues.
